Usually according to the Companies Act 2013, an individual can be appointed to the post of a director. The director is appointed by the shareholders. Besides an individual, a company, an association or a firm cannot be appointed as a director. The individual must assume the total responsibilities of running na fim and should bear the responsibility of his actions which will impact the whole organization.
There is an article of association which describes the procedure of selecting and appointing a director. Then we have a managing director, who is appointed for five years. A manager who has been appointed as managing director can become a managing director of another firm unless the board of directors approve of the decision.
